In this story, God promises Abraham that his descendants will be as numerous as the grains of sand on the beach. But how many grains of sand are actually there? By challenging the children to count grains of sand they will better understand the magnitude of God's promise to Abraham.

This activity is part of a complete Sunday school lesson on the Bible story of God calling Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac in Genesis 22: 1-19.
