Object lesson - Christmas: Puzzle - 3. Third piece of the puzzle

Use the puzzle piece of the turkey to introduce the story line of the shepherds

After the explanation of why Jesus came through the use of the Dean’s Box magic trick you take the third piece of the puzzle out of the folder. It's a picture of a turkey. You can talk about all the nice food that we eat at Christmas. Put this picture on the board and you are ready to start the following act: introducing the shepherds.

In this idea I demonstrate the use of the Christmas puzzle as the main story line in a Christmas show.

What you need:

  • Third piece of the Christmas puzzle

Let's start...

Activity

Use the picture of the turkey to talk about some of the animals in the Christmas story. In our wooden Christmas stables you will often find a cow and a donkey, but in the Bible there are other animals mentioned in the Christmas story. They weren’t in the stable. They were out in the fields. They were sheep!

This third piece of the puzzle helps you introduce the story of shepherd and their sheep
