In today’s Bible story Jesus heals the mother-in-law of his new friend and disciple Simon Peter. This lady was first very, very ill, but the moment Jesus heals her she gets up and starts serving other people. In this icebreaker the children take turns to ‘serve’ people, but have they got too much on their plate?!

This idea is part of a complete Sunday school lesson on the Bible story of Jesus healing the mother-in-law of Simon Peter in Capernaum and the people of Capernaum wanting Jesus to stay with them in Luke 4: 38 – 44.
