A scarecrow chases away the birds so that they don’t eat the harvest. In the same way, Hagar and Ishmael are chased away. But perhaps they also feel like scarecrows - not worth anything at all! Fortunately, God looks after them anyway! This craft illustrates that. 

This activity is part of a complete Sunday school lesson on the Bible story in Genesis 21: 1-21 on the birth of Isaac and the banishment of Hagar and Ishmael.
