Children's moment - OT: Joseph (3) meets Potiphar’s wife - The layers of an onion

The story of Joseph is one of the most inspiring and dramatic tales in the Bible, marked by themes of resilience, faith, and perseverance. In this interactive activity, we'll use an onion as a visual aid to help children engage with the different phases of Joseph's life and understand the lessons and messages embedded in his story.

As we start the activity, we'll invite the children to come forward (if doing this in a church setting) and show them the onion, explaining how it looks like Joseph with his beautiful coat of many colors. We'll then begin to peel off the layers of the onion, each layer representing a different phase of Joseph's life, from the loss of his coat to his enslavement in Egypt and eventual imprisonment.

Through this activity, we'll encourage children to reflect on the challenges and hardships that Joseph faced, and to draw connections between his story and their own lives. We'll help them understand the importance of resilience and faith in the face of adversity, and the power of perseverance in achieving their goals and dreams.

This activity is part of a comprehensive Sunday school lesson centered around Joseph's encounter with Potiphar's wife.
