Biblical person: Nicodemus (Pharisee)

Creative activities and ideas based on the biblical figure of Nicodemus (Pharisee)

Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a member of the Jewish ruling council who came to Jesus by night to discuss his teachings. In John 3, Jesus tells Nicodemus that "no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." Nicodemus was confused by this, thinking that a person cannot enter the womb a second time, but Jesus explained that this meant being born of the Spirit. Later, in John 7, Nicodemus defends Jesus to the Pharisees and in John 19, he assists Joseph of Arimathea in preparing Jesus' body for burial. Nicodemus is a symbol of the gradual awakening of faith in Jesus' teachings.
