James, the son of Zebedee, is an apostle of Jesus of Nazareth together with his brother John. Most likely, James and his brother John are cousins of Jesus. James fished on the Sea of Galilee together with John and Peter. Jesus calls James and John the ‘sons of thunder’. James, along with John and Peter, are Jesus’ closest disciples.
