Andrew was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus and the brother of Simon Peter. He was born in Bethsaida, a fishing village in Galilee, and was originally a disciple of John the Baptist before becoming a follower of Jesus. Andrew was known for his evangelistic zeal and for bringing people to Jesus, including his brother Peter. He was also present at several important events in Jesus' ministry, such as the feeding of the five thousand and the Last Supper. After Jesus' ascension, Andrew continued to preach the gospel and is said to have been martyred by crucifixion in the city of Patras in Greece.
