Bible story: Jephthah makes a fatal promise

Creative activities based on the Bible story of Jephthah makes a fatal promise

The Bible story of Jephthah is found in Judges chapter 11. Jephthah was an outcast who was later called upon to lead the Israelites in battle against the Ammonites. Before the battle, Jephthah made a vow to God that if he was victorious, he would offer as a sacrifice whatever came out of his house to greet him upon his return. Tragically, his own daughter came out to greet him, and Jephthah honored his vow.

This story teaches us about the dangers of making rash vows, the importance of following through with our promises, and the need for seeking God's will in all things. It also reminds us of God's faithfulness and His willingness to use even the outcast and downtrodden for His purposes.
