In Daniel chapter 5, we find the story of Belshazzar, the king of Babylon, who held a great feast and drank wine from the gold and silver vessels that had been taken from the temple in Jerusalem. Suddenly, a hand appeared and wrote mysterious words on the wall. The king was troubled and called for Daniel to interpret the writing. Through God's revelation, Daniel interpreted the words as a message of judgment against the king and Babylon.
