Bible story: The visit of the Magi

Creative activities based on the Bible story of The visit of the Magi

In the passage of Matthew 2: 1-18, wise men from the East come to Jerusalem seeking the newborn king of the Jews. King Herod is troubled by this news and asks the chief priests and scribes where the Messiah is to be born. They tell him that the Messiah will be born in Bethlehem.

Herod then tells the wise men to go and search for the child and report back to him, claiming that he wants to worship the child as well. However, after the wise men find the child and present him with gifts, they are warned in a dream not to return to Herod. Herod, enraged by this, orders the massacre of all male children under the age of two in Bethlehem in an attempt to kill the newborn king.
