Bible story: Peter and John running to the grave

Creative activities based on the Bible story of Peter and John running to the grave

The Bible story in John 20:2-10 of Peter and John running to the grave tells of the disciples' response to the news that the tomb where Jesus had been laid was empty. Mary Magdalene had informed them that the stone blocking the entrance had been rolled away and that Jesus' body was missing.

Peter and John immediately ran to the tomb to investigate. John arrived first and looked inside, seeing only the linen wrappings. When Peter arrived, he went into the tomb and saw the same thing. The sight filled them with confusion and amazement, leaving them to ponder the mystery of Jesus' resurrection.
