Using this secular YouTube film you can talk with the children about the Bible story of Joseph meeting his brothers in Egypt
A lama tries to cross a road in the desert. But every time he puts a foot on the road, traffic rushes by. He just can’t get to the other side. Then an armadillo comes along, and it crosses the road with no problems at all. The lama doesn’t know what to do – but eventually he crosses the road riding on the armadillo’s back.
So what makes this film suitable for a discussion on the story of Joseph seeing his brothers again?
The brothers go on a journey in order to buy food, but everything goes wrong. Other people are allowed to buy food, but they are accused of being spies, put into prison, have to leave one brother behind, get accused of stealing, and have to fetch their youngest brother. If it was up to their father, Jacob, they would never go back, but they have no choice – the famine forces them to go back to Egypt a second time.
