Bible story: ‘Joseph and Mary are looking for Jesus’

Introduction;
"After a few days when the festival was over, they all set off home. When they stopped for the night, Mary and Joseph expected Jesus would soon catch them up when it was time for dinner!  But he didn't come, and it was getting dark. They asked everybody WHERE IS JESUS? (Complete lettering).  Have you seen him? No. Was he with Auntie Elizabeth and Uncle Zechariah and cousin John?  No.  They  were terribly worried.  Have you ever gone off without telling anyone where you were going?  We need to remember always to tell someone where we are going, or the people who look after us get worried - they don't like it, do they?  As soon as they could, they set off back to Jerusalem.  They searched for 3 whole days!  They thought something terrible must have happened to him.  Maybe he had fallen down a well?  Or been kicked by a Roman soldier's horse?  Or been kidnapped and sold as a slave in the slave market?  Eventually they reached the Temple.  They found him HERE (open the door).  Not playing hide and seek, but talking with all the teachers!"...

Themes:
The story of the twelve year old Jesus in the temple talking with all the teachers, looking at the question "Where is Jesus now?"

Where is Jesus now?
A beautiful Bible story written by Korky and Anni Davey (OAC ministries). It answers the question: "Where is Jesus now?"
If I were to ask you "Where is Jesus now?"  What would you say?

1. “In Heaven"
At the right hand of his Father, God.  still "in his Father's house", now in charge of the family business.

2. "Here"
As he promised (Matthew 18:20) "Where two or three have gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst".

3. "In the heart of anyone who invites him"
As he promised in Revelation 3:20 – another door to open to find Jesus!
