Story - NT: Life of Jesus: Jairus' daughter - Sketchboard story

Jairus hears the worst message possible: "Your little girl has died."

"Then Jairus' servant pushed through the crowd, his face covered in tears, and said to him "Oh, Sir, I don't know how to tell you......  I'm afraid it's bad news, Sir....... Don't trouble the Lord Jesus any more.  I'm afraid it's too late.  Your little girl has died.."

How must Jairus have felt?  He must have felt ... (sad, disappointed, frustrated?)

"IF ONLY Jesus had come when I asked.  IF ONLY he hadn't stopped to deal with that sick woman.

IF ONLY things had been different....."  We sometimes think that God hasn't heard our prayers, don't we?  We think IF ONLY he had answered our prayer, things would be better.  Jairus had asked Jesus to come, and now it was too late.  But with Jesus it's never too late.  Jesus said to him "Don't worry, Jairus, I am coming. Don't give up hope..."

This Bible story can be found in Mark 5:21–43, Matthew 9:18–26 and Luke 8:40–56.
