Game - Christmas (1): Zechariah meets the angel Gabriel - Keep that straw under your nose!
Use this fun game to teach about the story of the priest Zachariah meeting the angel Gabriel
This game is a fun way to help children understand the challenge of remaining silent, just like Zechariah in our story who was told by the angel Gabriel that he would have to remain silent for nine months.
To play the game, all you need are some straws. Give each child a straw and ask them to hold it between their upper lip and their nose. The challenge is to see who can keep quiet the longest without dropping the straw. For older children, you can make it harder by setting up an obstacle course for them to navigate while keeping the straw in place.
Let's see who can keep their straw in place the longest!
This idea is part of a complete Sunday School lesson on Zechariah meeting the angel Gabriel in Luke 1: 5 -25, as part of our series for advent and Christmas.
