A really cool experiment about taking care of God's creation
I have written a series of ideas and activities especially for Micah Sunday, that you can use during your Sunday school or children’s moment in church.
This year the theme of the Micah Sunday is based on a text from Psalm 24: ‘The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.’
It looks at how we as Christians can take care of God's world. What can we do to stop pollution, climate change and all the effects this has on the earth and those living in poverty. For them this means more hunger, conflict and insecurity, and a more uncertain future for us all.
Using the experiment below we are going to explain how carbon dioxide attacks the ozone layer, and that this means that the sun shines more brightly on the earth.
What do you need:
- a glass
- yellow liquid food colouring
- water
- squares of paper, 10 x 10 cm
- scissors/ a needle
- a large plastic bowl to catch the water in
