Dear God, I am really thankful for...
In Psalm 150 the writer calls us to praise God. When we praise God we are also thanking him for who he is and what he does. What are we thankful for? Do we tell God that we are thankful? Let’s make a paper chain of all sorts of things that we are thankful for.
Make sure you have lots of strips of coloured paper. Ask the children to write up as many things as possible that they are thankful for, one thing per piece of paper. Make a paper chain of the strips of paper.
You can make a game of it, to see how many things the children can think of in a certain time. You can help them by asking them questions, like:
- What are you grateful for at school, at home, or on the street?
- What are you good at? Can you thank God for these things?
Close with a short prayer to thank God for everything that we are grateful for.
What do you need:
- Coloured strips of paper
- Crayons or pens
- Stapler or cellotape
