A fun activity for your kid's time to help children reflect on what is means to be humble
This is a series of ideas based around Micah 6:8 "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
What do you need:
- Four round circles cut out of cardboard
- A big marker pen
Setting:
Children's Sunday School, Sunday school lesson, children's ministry, kid's time, children's moment in church, Messy church, school assemblies, RE lessons, youth work
Activity:
Show the children an empty white cardboard circle. Ask someone to come forward and draw a face on it:
1. Who can draw a happy face for me?
Ask your first volunteer to draw a happy face in the first cardboard circle.
Ask them a few questions about it:
- what does ‘happy’ look like?
- what is being happy?
- what does it feel like?
- what do you do when you’re happy?
