Teaching children and teenagers about not wearing masks in church
In our daily lives we sometimes have to take on a role to just go through the day and when we want to achieve something. It is very easy to constantly wear a certain mask, so that people like, so that you are safe... Very often we are not even aware anymore of the (many) masks we wear. And then we come to church!
How easy it is to also wear our masks in church. But do we really need them when we are among God's family? Do we dare to open ourselves and our lives for one another?
This is an important question! But how do you raise an issue like this? Well, maybe through the Headless Cartoon silks...
The use of Headless Cartoon silks within children's and youth ministry:
These beautiful silks, each with different characters depicted on them, but without their heads! This way, either you or your volunteers from the audience can hold up the silks and finish the pictures with their faces! Lots of fun for kids and adults, with audience participation and many comic possibilities. Includes four beautiful, 36-inch, 100% pure silks with routine ideas.
You can the Headless Cartoon silks for:
234 - Who is important in God’s eyes?
235 - Telling the Bible story of Zacchaeus
236 - The prodigal son’s dreams
237 - No popularity contest within God’s family
238 - No need for masks in God’s family
The four Headless Cartoon silks are no magic trick, although we use within Gospel Magic. You can make them appear from a large dove pan using flash paper.
(You can watch a demonstration video of the Headless Cartoon Silks combined with the dove pan and the flash paper here.)
