An easy to do gospel illussion on the Holy Trinty from Rick Lenski
This Gospel illusion is from Rick Lenski and can be used in your children's ministry, Sunday school or kidmin. You don't have to be a Christian magician to do this trick.
Verse:
Genesis 1:26 “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that he may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all creatures that move along the ground.”
Exodus 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.”
Goal:
The Trinity, it exists but there is only one God.

Lesson
Do:
Hold up a single ring
Tell:
Just as this circle has not beginning and not end it is the same with God. God always was, always is and always will be. He stands outside time and sees the beginning and the end. He is the ultimate time traveler.
As much as that is a mystery as how He can do that
Do:
Hold all three rings in front of you, together so it appears there is only one ring.
Tell:
At the beginning of the creation of the earth and everything in it God said, Genesis 1:26 “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that he may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all creatures that move along the ground.”
Us? Us? What did He mean by that, “Us”. Well we know from read the bible we have (Drop one ring at a time into your other hand as you list these). We have God the Father. We have God the Son: Jesus. And we have God the Holy Spirit. This is a great mystery that God has three distinct personalities but there is only one God. God further goes on to say in Exodus 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.” No other gods but we have three personalities in our one true God.
Do:
Link all three rings together.
Tell:
God in heaven had a plan and God the Father organized how we were to be saved and sent his Son to complete this mission. (Separate one ring) Jesus carried out the plan by coming to earth and dying on the cross. He then went back to heaven (Link the rings). Before Jesus left he said he would send the Holy Spirit
Do:
Separate one ring.
Tell:
whom he called the Comforter to be with us.
Do:
Put this ring around over your head and around your neck.
Tell:
and the Holy Spirit calls people to accept the plan and transform the lives of those who receive God’s plan. But God being God is still in heaven...
Do:
Take the single ring off from around your neck and link it.
Tell:
and here on earth.
Do:
Gather the rings together to appear as one ring.
Tell:
The great mystery, the Trinity exists and is real. We cannot understand it but all three personalities are God. All three are one God and this one God loves you.
