This Gospel illusion is from Rick Lenski and can be used in your children's ministry, Sunday school or kidmin. You don't have to be a Christian magician to do this trick.
Verse:
Mathew 17:20-21 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Goal:
It’s not always easy, you have to pray and pray and fast.

Tell:
We must pray for those who are sick but many times we just say a quick prayer and wonder why nothing happens. The apostles ran into this situation.
A man approached Jesus and said his son was epileptic and had seizures. He brought him to the apostles, they prayed for him and nothing happened. Jesus prayed, rebuked the demon and the child was cured.
This block is like their prayers, it just won’t go through the tube. Something is blocking it, just like something was blocking their prayers.
Do:
Show the tube empty and pass the block through easily, then put the blade in to stop it and let it sit there trapped.
Tell:
Later the apostles came to Jesus and said: ‘What happened we prayed and he was not cured.”
Jesus said to them and said they didn’t have enough faith. Their faith was as small as a mustard seed. They had to work on that with prayer and fasting to build up their faith and they would see results.
